I spent 2 weeks studying at Kie Balam and highly recommend it.  The quality of instruction is excellent.   I arrived speaking minimum Spanish, and after twoo weeks  I’m able to navigate with same help in the variety of situations. Students more adavanced than my self made significant progress, the point being theat regarless of level of competence at entry there are teachers  at the school well equipped to teach.   The range of activities during and after school hours is broad and varied and there is also a strong commitment to volunteer servia.  The school is warm, and I cannot say enough about the director Marlo Mora, who coordinates with tremendous competence and provides all kinds of help with travel arrangements or other needs as they arise.

Of my three Spanish schools in witch I took classes in Xela, Kie Balam was my favorite.   It has a wormy family atmosphere that distinguished it from  the others schools and witch permuted every interaction  I had of Marlo  its director; Jorge  my teacher with my family. Plus I had a great time. I highly recommend Spanish school in Xela Kie Balam.

I had a grat time at Kie Balam  as it was not easy for us to decide witch school to take in Xela.   We did choose Kie Balam due to its great familiar atmosphere and excellent facilities after three weeks we’ve spent here I think our choise was the right one.

I loved to study and socialize at Kie-Balam from the very first day on I felt like entering a new family. I enjoyed many wonderful meals cocked by the master-chef and director Marlo and lovely chats at the school cafe shop (cafe Q), in the evenings with a good cup of herbal tea or organic hot chocolate and many ping-pong games at random times with the students.  Everyone was extremely friendly and generous and I also met very nice people through various interesting activities in the afternoons. I really think that this school has the nicest environment and facilities in Xela with a beautiful garden in addition.

Pase un tiempo perfecto en Xela Guatemala.  La escuela me ayudó a comunicarme en las tiendas y estuve cómodo caminando en las calles.  Mi casa aqui tiene lo mismas cosas que tengo en mi casa en los Estados Unidos, la comida fue deliciosa y la familia fue muy amable.  Yo sentí que Xela era como mi hogar y al final de mi viaje ya no quería salir.

We stayed almost 10 days at Kie-Balam and have enjoyed our stay very much. As “beginners” in Spanish language it door give us a while to capture grammar and vocabulary but due to the patience of our teachers we made a major progress.  Besides on studies, we liked attending the various “actividades” offered.  And, last but not least, have allowed to live and stay in our own space in the school. Kie-Balam is an excellent school for learning Spanish. The environment is very chill, down to earth and promotes learning. The activities were all great and very fun. The school is one of the smaller schools in Xela but it offers the best. The teachers invest themselves in your desire to learn. The director is actively involved in the community and is more than willing to assist you at anytime. I thoroughly enjoyed myself at Kie-Balam!!!!  Muchas Gracias Kie-Balam!!!

The staff at the school is very friendly and accommodating to any needs, special considerations and more that you might have.  My teacher was great and we studied what we wanted and she was very friendly too! The school is nice, quiet and small, with too many students and good organized excursion events, they also have free Internet!! All in all, I have nothing bad to say about Kie-Balam, I had a completely positive experience.

I really enjoyed my 5 weeks in Xela at Kie-Balam school. The Spanish instruction was top notch and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The cultural activities led each afternoon by different teachers, also served to give the school a family atmosphere very nice. Thanks again to all the staff.
