At Kie Balam, we want to make the most of your stay in Quetzaltenango. That’s why we recommend our students stay with one of our Guatemalan families.

All of our host families live near Kie Balam and are very close to the Historic Center of Quetzaltenango, so the student can easily walk to their classes and meet with classmates for various activities.

The payment for any of our class packages includes:

If you come only to learn the Spanish language and only want classes, at Kie Balam we offer you the following services when you pay for any of our packages:

Kie Balam offers online classes that will be taught by our teachers from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 7 pm (Guatemala local time).

The student can choose the schedule they want.

The first class is to evaluate the level of Spanish.

Classes will be held on the Microsoft Teams platform.
-
Schedules are subject to teacher availability.
-
If necessary, and with justified reason, classes can be made up on Saturdays.
Airport Pick-Up Service
Option 1 - $55

If your flight arrives early in the day, our staff member Miriam will take you directly to the bus station so you can travel to Quetzaltenango the same day.
This airport pick-up service includes:

Transfer to the bus station

Bus ticket to Quetzaltenango

Pick-up at the bus station in Xela
-
Transfer to your host family’s home or your chosen accommodation

Please let us know the date of your arrival in Guatemala City so we can plan and coordinate your airport pick-up service in advance.

Option 2 - $80
If you prefer to travel the day after your arrival in Guatemala, Miriam will take you from the airport to our guesthouse, where you’ll enjoy a warm welcome and a comfortable room. The next morning, you’ll be provided with breakfast and transferred to the bus station to continue your trip to Quetzaltenango. You may choose the departure time that works best for you.

Important Information for Both Options:

Please let us know the exact date of your arrival in Guatemala City so we can coordinate your airport pick-up service.

We recommend traveling from Guatemala City to Quetzaltenango before 3:00 p.m., as the journey takes approximately 4 to 6 hours. Arriving earlier ensures you won’t get to Kie Balam too late in the evening.
